You can read more about it on the official site, but the basic unit of work in the Pomodoro Technique can be split in five simple steps:

1. Choose a task to be accomplished
2. Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break (commonly of 15 minutes)

To count the time, kitchen timers are usually adopted. Just for fun, I wrote a really basic python script to work as a pomodoro timer. If I end up using it ofter I’ll further develop it. It still lacks tray integration (or maybe unity integration). Feel free to use and improve it

Tomorrow I’ll be heading to Lisbon, attending Codebits, a 3 day conference organized by SAPO. Despite the late inscription, I’ve been accepted and since this is my first year attending, I’m really looking forward to it. The story is still very similar to the book, Dan Brown’s masterpiece, which I’ve also read and loved. The soundtrack scores high points in creating a suspense environment. Well, no spoilers here, just try it yourself.

A must watch for everyone.

Angels & Demons

It was awesome! It started with two supporting bands, but the sound was really lousy, despites that, the music was nice. I admit that I was really surprised when Jason came out, the sound was way better for them. He played musics from both his latest albums, and even though I only knew the last one, I was completely thrilled with all the songs.

He’s an hell of a performer, the show is well thought, and everyone had a smile on their faces after the show. For thoses who have have the opportunity to attend one of his concerts, don’t hesitate, it rocks!

And it’s out! The second open source powered movie, made from Blender, has been released. I’m already downloading it, from bittorrent, and anxious to watch it! Obviously, the download is completely free, but you can choose to order the DVD to support the team and the next open movie.

If you’re wandering, the first open movie was Elephant Dreams and I remember that the image quality was really something, so I’m really looking forward to this one!

The idea is simple: download the image, print it, cut, fold and it’s done. You don’t even need glue. I’ve made two of them, and they really rock! Have fun!

I’ve went to see the movie yesterday, and I’ve just LOVED it. I was very excited when, some months ago, I’ve seen the first images from it, and it was exactly what I was expecting.

It isn’t probably a movie for everyone, since the story is too fictional, but it is a great movie for the kid in each one of us, who has once seen the animated series of the Transformers!
