Recent gnome’s project, gnome-do, is awesome!
For anyone not aware of it, you just time almost anything you want to do, and gnome will..Well, Do it! I’ve tried Queen, and the music started playing, a nick from a friend, and the conversation is open with pidgin, some page I’ve visited, and I get there imidiatly, and lots, lots more!
Try it out, it’s easilly and fastly installed!

Great news to the next alpha for the upcoming Ubuntu 8.04!
To everyone who got interested in my last post, this version already ships all the mtp stuff needed to connect to those new creative mp3 players. I’ve worked a bit myself on it, by merging the latest libmtp.
Another great feature is the disk manager. From now on, whenever you plug in a new disk, you can graphically set it. Not aware of fstab? Not needed anymore!

I’ve bought yesterday a Creative Zen. As a player, it is really good, as you can see in many reviews.
Despites that, I’ve had a hard time, managing to get it to work in my laptop with Ubuntu. Finally, I’ve came up with a solution. The comunication with the device must be done via MTP, so I’ve had to use the latest libmtp to connect it. The package included in the repositories is too old, so you have to download and compile it yourself. Here’s how.
