Android SDK

Google’s now looking after developers to create great applications to the first open handset platform. To motivate developers to download and start playing with the SDK, Google will be offering $10 million among the ones with better applications!

Here’s a video showing some of the already built applications . Amazing!

Open Handset Alliance

What would it take to build a better mobile phone?

The question is put by the Open Handset Alliance, which is gathering a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies who have come together to accelerate innovation in mobile and offer consumers a richer, less expensive, and better mobile experience. Some really important names are behind the project, like Google, HTC, LG, NVIDIA, Intel and many, many others!

In order to the do this, they’ve developed Android, the first complete, open, and free mobile platform, that will be released in the second half of 2008.

It appears that all the rumors behind Google’s Phone are now demystified. They’re not creating a mobile phone of their own, as was being said, but hardly working as part of the Open Handset Alliance.

This is definitely a project with the right motivation and sponsors to become something really huge! Will it blend the Iphone?
